Seems I'm the only person in the UK who has noticed...

....that this summer has been incredibly long and absolutely idyllic. Is it because I no longer associate summer with only the 6 weeks of school holiday and nothing else? If you ask me, it started early - remember all the worry from farmers about the lack of late spring rain for the crops? - and seems to be hanging on in there right now as well. In fact, I have powerful memories of the weather perking up annoyingly just as the new school year starts....long hot steamy lessons in classrooms without blinds etc. I spent most of this one at home (....well at work too, we didn't go on holiday anywhere, didn't really see the point given the wonderful weather and lack of funds). The garden was gorgeous, it seems to have been going on forever, so long in fact that I don't feel bothered by the eventual onset of winter. Let's get autumn out of the way first huh?
