Did I say I would take part in some sort of competitive time limited activity? I really should know better. And maybe choose better things ( for better please read 'simple' ) to tackle. NOTE: this principle does not only apply to knitting....
I should probably explain why I haven't even made it to the heel...which in the light of the amount of time available, even allowing for the fact that I work and have many other things that have to be done sucking my time away.... like son number 2 turning 18 this weekend, my friend visiting whom I haven't seen for months and months, being sure to spend a bit of time with my Mum, and then the general domestic stuff....but I shouldn't make excuses. Here's the real reason.
I just stopped knitting the sock, and did something else. I promised to knit a beanie and became utterly side tracked by choosing the right cast on, I finished the baby blankie, finished the beret, started designing a new version of the first ( and almost only ) garment I have ever knitted. I got distracted. And I lost track of time, and then lost sight entirely of the end date. I was out of the race, and it didn't matter.
But I'm going to finish the sock. At the very least I'm going to finish this sock....don't the needles look all mystical and fairy magic in the photo?
