Byron Bay pt 2

We didn't just go to Bryon Bay, though you could and it would be great. But Nelson knows his way around, so we stopped off at a few places along the way.

First, Fingal Head. With a nice view of Cook Island, just east of the coast, which is now a little nature reserve. We didn't take a trip out there, nor did we go too near the edge either: for fear of getting blown off the headland by the tail end of Cyclone Pam. It was really windy. Cyclone Pam, if you haven't already heard on the news, has left the pacific archipelago of Vanuatu absolutely devastated.

The sea was pretty lively, and there's quite a lot of this columnar basalt around. Just like the Giant's Causeway.

To the north of the headland...a view of this beach. Maybe the southern end of the Gold Coast in the background (or maybe the Northern end of New South Wales, I'm not too sure).

And to the south, this...

...and this. Dreamtime Beach.

And then we stopped off here for a bit...view to the north.

View to the south.

The whole coastline is just an endless run of pristine sand and emerald ocean, dotted with an idyllic little bay every once in a while. Miles and miles and miles of it, all the way to Sydney.

Don't know about you, but I'm all beached out for now. How about this...

Not in Byron as it happens, but I thought you'd appreciate the change of scenery.
