finished

So. There it is. Kaffe Fasset blast from the past. Have a good laugh....you would need some kind of shoulders for that to fit if it were indeed ever destined to be a garment....! Clearly, it wasn't. Scale can be judged from the neckline, which although probably prey to some gauge problems, looks fairly acceptable compared to the rest. It's no work of art, my sewing skills are pretty basic and make do. If it looks like it will hold together for a while, then great, job done.

Infact, while browsing the knitting section of my central library ( a regular treat if in town...) I found a Kaffe Fasset book and this very pattern in this very colour way was on the inside cover...like a message from the universe. He does have an amazing eye, that much has to be conceded. I have never attempted one of his patterns since, but there is a lot of inspiration to be had. And now this is gracing my new leather sofa, lending it's rich soft comfortable surface to the gap at the end of the 'chaise' bit. Roughly 20 years in the making, but worth the wait and more than a nod of approval to the make do and mend hoarding brigade..of which I am clearly a dyed in the wool fully paid up member.
