This is the result. It's a wee one, just 80 x 25 cm. A mix of new and up-cycled cotton and poly-cotton, machine quilted (something I also need a bit of practise at..this is ok, not brilliant but not bad either).
I've also found out how to fix the wavy edge problem, which has happened to some extent on all my quilts so far. The trick apparently is to 'ease' the extra fabric in when applying the binding. This means attaching a length of binding that is shorter than the actual edge of the quilt, but without creating any visible gathers or, heaven forbid, pleats.
It involves being very thorough and doing some pinning and so forth, so I won't be back-tracking with this one.
